A Look Back: TAL: Find Your Way February 2024 and Introducing Day Passes!

Here's what we did in The Art Life: Find Your Way for February 2024!

Every Friday, we have a live one hour painting session. For those who can't make the live session or need to revisit the techniques and ideas shared, the workshop is recorded and placed in our abundant library archive with forever access (there's 3 years of content in our library!

These live painting sessions are a great way to carve out designated art time on a regular basis. Creating a regular practice can change your approach to art making, and possibly your life (it's changed mine.)

In addition to weekly painting sessions, there are weekly prompts to encourage different approaches and thoughts on art making. Acrylic painting, art journaling, collage, drawing, writing and thinking about art, learning about art history and much, much more are some of the things that we share.

Harvest, Joan Eardley, 1960-1961

We also have art mentors! In February, we studied the work of Joan Eardley, drawing inspiration from her approach to art making, as well as learning about her life. There's so much to learn from other artists.

Did I mention art journaling? Every month, there is a new two hour art journaling workshop. I share a page and then present different ideas in paper, paint, and pen to approach "translating" the work. In the two hour art journaling workshop, we think about different ways of doing the work (both in collage and paint!)

We also have ongoing virtual art salons, where we work alongside artists from all over the world sharing ideas, asking questions, and again, carving out time for our creative work.

My goals are not to teach you to paint like me. Instead, I want to instill a passion for art, creativity, exploration, and life long learning. You can learn more about what's in The Art Life: Find Your Way monthly workshop by clicking here

Just beautiful. I have recently tried painting with watercolors and trying acrylics. I am sure not a good painter or drawer, but I'm enjoying it at my level. I hope to improve. I like landscapes, birds, flowers and abstracts.

Thanks, Cathy. Drawing and painting are skills that can be learned. They're not talents. So, the more you spend doing them, the more your confidence improves. Happy art making. Thanks for stopping by.
