What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for more than twenty years. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Full Spectrum: Paintings by Raimonds Staprans at San Jose Museum of Art

Recently, I visited the San Jose Museum of Art to see Raimonds Staprans exhibit, Full Spectrum. I had heard his name before seeing the exhibit but knew absolutely nothing about the artist. I really enjoyed seeing his paintings in person. I went bonkers over his use of color and light. It's hard to see the details in the photographs. You have to be standing in front of the paintings to truly appreciate his mastery of color. After standing in the first room, I wanted to run and grab my paint brush.

California Flora

My family is here until tomorrow so I'm still on the go (they are on the go people and believe it or not, I am a homebody who enjoys occasional road trips and not daily go, go, go adventures.) I thought that I'd share some recent photos with you from my adventures.

I'm taking pre-orders through Wednesday (2/28) for my latest self published offering, An Artist's Study. These are extremely limited and will not be reprinted.

This weekend, I'll start my trek (driving) to Everything Scrapbook and Stamps in Lake Worth, Florida. I'm teaching FIVE new classes. The samples are in the store. I'm hoping to stop at art museums along the way. Any suggestions would be greatly recommended. I'm hoping to visit the Menil Collection again but not sure if their hours will line up with my trip again.

I'm super excited to be teaching in Durfort, France in 2019. I'm taking sign-ups now and space is limited. You can find out more information here. I will have a video posted shortly of my sample journal.
