Holding Onto the Light: Sunflowers Now available as a recording

Holding Onto the Light: Sunflowers

As the days get shorter and the light begins to fade, we turn towards finding whatever light we can. Like sunflowers, we try to capture the light.

In this workshop, our focus will be on capturing the essence, the feeling and the brilliance of the sunflower.

Note: while I will be demonstrating primarily with acrylic paint, you may prefer to explore other mediums (paint markers, crayons, collage, etc... More on this below.)

This workshop isn't a "recipe" workshop. It was created to get your hands working and moving across your substrate. Let's play with color, shape, form and the fundamental principles of art as we explore the beauty of the sunflower.

YOU are invited!

What supplies will I need?

I'll be using mostly acrylics and a pencil but maybe you'd rather use paint markers, crayons (yes, even kids' crayons) or collage materials or whatever floats your inspirational boat! I'm going to walk you through what it takes to be inspired by the magnificence of sunflowers. I'll send you color ideas and supplies I use when you sign up but you don't need much and, again, you do not have to use what I am using

  • a substrate (paper, journal page, etc...)
Your favorite supplies which could be:
  • acrylics in a few favorite colors
  • your favorite paint tools (brushes, palette knife, Catalyst tools) along with paper towels/rags and a water cup
  • mark making/drawing tools such as: water based paint markers, Stabilo All Aquarellable pencil, etc...

Absolutely no previous art making/painting experience is required.

Sounds great, but I can't make the virtual, live session, will it be recorded?

YES. You'll receive a special link and a class handout within 2 days after the workshop ends. You'll also have access to me should you have any questions AFTER the workshop ends.

ENROLLMENT IS EXTREMELY LIMITED!

How do I sign up?

This workshop is now RETIRED.

As always, thanks for your interest and support.

Maybe these sunflowers look familiar. They are part of my very first portfolio series, A PAINTED WORLD. I have a handful still available here. Please note that these will NOT be reprinted as they are signed, numbered and VERY limited.

As always, thank you for your support!
