Jet Pens: New Pens!
As part of their sponsorship program, JetPens sent
me a $25 gift certificate to play with. I had a few things in mind. Here's what I ordered:
Zebra Craft-Star 1 Markers-I like these water-based paint markers a lot. One thing that I found out immediately is that unlike some of the other paint markers, you should not over pump them. (Like the Derwent's Graphik Line Painters, they will leak if you pump them too much.) You shake them (ALWAYS with the cap on) and pump the tip a couple of times on scrap paper to get the ink flowing. I like the colors and how vibrant and smooth the pens are. The tip is extra fine and quite yummy. Not sure how long the ink lasts since I haven't had them long but for $3, I found them to be worth it.
Sakura Decorese Gel Ink Pens-I also liked these pens in pastel, opaque, matte colors. They do have a slight smell to them so fyi. They dry raised (almost like the Glaze and Souffle pens.) They do take a couple of minutes to dry (like the Glaze and Souffle) but they are smooth when they write. The funky cap design cracks me up but the nice thing is they have a little color swatch on the top of them. The pens also come in white (you can see an example written on the tape above.)
An additional FYI-
Both of the above markers and pens write on washi and paper tape as well as (dried) painted pages.
I would definitely buy these pens/markers again especially if they were made available in more colors.
