What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for more than twenty years. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for stopping by!

23 August 2010

Tristan started his first day of school yesterday (same online school as last year). So far, so good. I'm irked that they have the kids go back before Labor Day. It frustrates me that the school system doesn't want kids to be kids.

Yesterday was also the last day of the Film Noir screenings that we've been attending Monday nights since it started (sadly, we did miss a few films when I had to go out of town to teach). It was an amazing chance to see several of our favorites on the big screen. Tristan is bummed that we missed the ending of the Adventures of Captain Marvel serial. We wanted to find out if our guess was correct on who The Scorpion was! We are hoping that the Academy does something like this again.

Blog Love:

Ricë Freeman-Zachery on "branding" (I am shuddering even at typing the word.)
On the book wish list
A backyard Laboratory
Camilla Engman workshop part 2
I save my tea bag holders to do something similar!

Letter from a 16 year old self
Remembering youth
Carla summarizes how to clean a toilet
International Food Bloggers convention day 1 (love her summary of Morgan Spurlock's thoughts)

Films Watched:
Star Trek-still watching season 2 (again!) Love it!
Panic in the Year Zero
The Brady Bunch Movie
No Country For Old Men (I liked Blood Simple more)
White Heat

I drooled over that book in Anthropologie and nearly brought it home. Glad I waited...almost half price on Amazon than what it was in Anthropologie! I will be getting it!

I read Rice's branding post, but can't find your remarks on this? Please link/reply. Thanks!
