What I'm Reading (and Housekeeping)

Hilma af Klint by Julia Voss

I've been waiting eagerly for this! It's been keeping me up late the last few nights.

Color and Light

Imaginative Realism

Both books are by James Gurney, who was kind enough to sign and sketch in them for me:

James Gurney's blog is a treasure trove of information and inspiration for artists. I haven't had a chance to read Imaginative Realism yet but Color and Light is one of the BEST books I've seen on color. It's a MUST for artists. I wish I had known about his work sooner. He's a walking art historian which makes his work even more fascinating.

I found Gurney via Youtube and the Draftsmen's wonderful episode on him. It's well worth your time.

Some Housekeeping:

Holding Onto the Light: Sunflowers: PWYCW  (A Pay What You Can Workshop*)

Registration for this month's session of The Art Life Workshop is open!

What are you reading?

I just finished Crying in H-mart which was good but sad. I found Gurney via my boyfriend whos an artist as well, and love his books! Is the Hilma book good? There's an exhibiton with her art in Stockholm right now. :-)

@IHanna Gurney is top notch! I'm still reading the Hilma book and it's informative and well written. I'd definitely recommend it from what I've read so far.
