Finding Beauty: New Lessons in Seeing, Drawing and Painting Flowers Now available as a recording
Finding Beauty
Beauty surrounds us. We just need to know where to look, how to see it and what to focus on.
As I continue to deep dive into explorations of drawing and painting flowers, I want to invite you on the journey with me.
What
you will be doing: drawing, A LOT OF DRAWING to reinforce confidence
and to generate ideas! You will also be painting your drawings and
taking your own notes along the way to document your discoveries and
tools used.
All
you need is: some references (could be actual flowers or found images),
a few of your favorite pencils, a sharpener, your journal, your
favorite brushes, a small painting knife and a handful of your favorite
acrylics. Oh, and a desire to play, explore and ask questions is
helpful, too!
Note: Not only am I teaching how to draw
different flowers but we are narrowing the focus to drawing and painting
flowers (NO painted backgrounds or making books in Finding Beauty.) You can work on
separate sheets of paper but I would encourage you to work in a journal
form to document your explorations and discoveries.
Workshop format:
via Zoom
The lessons are recorded and then sent to you within 24-48 hours after the workshop ends.
Our
workshop begins with drawing flowers! Bring a pencil sharpener, small
handful of your favorite pencils (I like to use a couple of different
colors) and your journal with paper that can hold up to acrylic paint.
There
is a 2 hour break between the drawing and painting session. This is to
encourage you to recharge your batteries (and your device!) Take a walk,
nap, grab some lunch or, keep drawing on your own.
We will reconvene after the break and change our focus to painting our flowers.
You
will walk away with several pages of new work, new confidence and a
fiery passion for drawing and painting flowers that you love!
This workshop is now RETIRED.
