Planting Seeds...

When I study a subject, I tend to immerse myself in it as much as possible. I'm looking closely at my collection of dried flowers. I stop and look at flowers in the street. I'm savoring my small collection of books on painted flowers.

I'm trying to make each flower have its own personality. I'm looking at the works of other artists and how they made their drawings and paintings so unique to them.

I'm trying not to judge. I make a pile of drawings and then go back to look at each one. Mostly, I've been working in pencil. I like the simplicity of the line drawings.
When I was little, I never left home without a pencil, a pad of paper, a book and a stuffed animal.
I forgot how much I love pencils, paper, drawing and the act of slowing down.
