Quarantine Journal January 2021
“To deny the existence of sad feelings because they are sad is to deny the sun until it is noon.” -Gustave Flaubert Letter to Louise Colet, December 11, 1846
I bound a new journal at the end of December and began work on the covers on the 1st of January.
I struggled with the direction. I began by using colors I don't usually reach for as well as trying to create different textures.
Unfortunately, I neglected to take photos of every step. When the pink showed up, it suddenly hit me with the direction it needed to go.
