May 10th and 11th Hanover, MA
I'm quite excited to announce two NEW workshops in my hometown state of Massachusetts! Friday night, May 10th from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 11th from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. I'll be teaching at my friend, Marissa's home in Hanover, MA. It will be a new set up then last time (we'll all be in one room) and I'm really excited to be returning!
Please note, Marissa does have pets.

These fresh,
new workshops teach a variety of NEW ideas involving collage, creative
processing, self expression, composition, design, layering, painting and much,
much more.
Please note there is
a small supply list. (For long time regulars, please make sure to read the updated supply list below each class description.)
Beginners to
advanced are welcome in ALL of the classes.

Payments for the Hanover, MA workshop must be made in advance. Due to the fact that the teacher is traveling from Los Angeles and must prep for the workshops in advance, there are no cancellations allowed. No refunds.
You may send someone else in your place if you are unable to attend the workshop, or you will receive a kit for the class. You can either pay via paypal (see button below) or send a check or money order. Once you've signed up for the workshop, you will be sent the address and directions to the workshop location. If you have ANY questions you can email me. I will also give you my cell phone number so you contact me.
The class fee includes a vast array of mediums and materials to complete the necessary project. It is well known that I do not travel light to any of my classes. I will be bringing such things are:
- all materials necessary to complete the project (handmade paper, decorative paper, board, glue, etc...)
- bookbinding supplies (thread, awl, needles)
- rubber stamps
- ink pads
- decorative tape
- stencils
- pens and markers
- gel medium
- collage ephemera and much, much more.

We all have our favorite tools. After all, what artist doesn’t love a good paintbrush? What about other art tools like
palette knives, catalyst tools and even household items?
I’ve fallen head over heels painting with tools that aren’t brushes. After this workshop, you will, too!
Moving
beyond the brush opens us up to new possibilities and discoveries in
how we create layers on our pages. Learn how to create new colors on
your
rich, luscious, unique pages. Gain confidence in exploring new ideas
and take the plunge into a world of color. Learn that creative mistakes
are only new possibilities. Bring your journal, some waxed paper and be
ready to set off on a whole new adventure
in creative painting.
Supply
list: Your Journal (some students have found that bringing two or three
journals or a few pieces of cardstock works best to allow for drying
time), a Mini 01 Catalyst took (IF you have one. I will have some to
share), a small bag to hold your trash/paper scraps
(think a small brown lunch bag, or the small handled paper bags they
give out at Starbucks),
an
apron, scissors,
a small selection of favorite collage
ephemera (think
about reading this when choosing your images and papers),
baby wipes, cork back metal ruler, a full roll of paper towels OR old rags, a container for your paint water,
your
favorite paint brushes,
a water brush pen (OR an extra fine, detail paint brush *ONLY* IF you have one), a
few of your favorite LARGE glue sticks (please trust me when I say that
large glue sticks will last you longer. I always have two or three 40
gram glue sticks in my journal bag and that's more than enough for a
long weekend. You WILL go through the smaller
glue sticks in MINUTES), roll
of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

The Palette Journal
This
is a workshop in letting go and giving yourself permission to do so.
I've been on a quest to save wasted paint for quite some time now. How
can we take our love of acrylics, color, collage and our palettes and
transform them into something new?
What if you combined your passion for paint and paper and turned your palette into a working journal?
You
will create a user friendly, simple journal made from scratch. We'll
then work quickly and start to prep your pages. Learn how to let go on
the page as you transform this one of a kind creation into something
unique and completely your own.
Supply
list: your journal (YES, we are making a journal in class but PLEASE
bring your journal to work back and forth between the two books. Trust
me when I say that there is a method to my madness), palette knife
and/or mini 01 catalyst tool (if you have one), a small bag to hold your trash/paper scraps
(think a small brown lunch bag, or the small handled paper bags they
give out at Starbucks), an apron, bone folder, scissors, a small selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images and papers), permanent black ink pad (only if you have one), cork back metal ruler, a full roll of paper towels OR old rags, a container for your paint water, your favorite brushes to paint and glue with, a
