The Art Spirit: Juicy Living A Creative Smorgasbord April 12th through the 14th in Fremont, CA
April 12th through the 14th
at Maria's home studio in Fremont, CA
Each session stands on its own. Each session focuses on different techniques utilizing key principles and elements of art. These workshops are life changing!
Think of the weekend as a creative smorgasbord. You can choose to take one session or many! Spend an entire weekend (if you choose) full of color, paste, paper, layers, unraveling,
laughter, inspiration and creative frenzy! Come one! Come all! I have been waiting years to teach these extended workshops and I hope to see you there.
These fresh,
new workshops teach a variety of NEW ideas involving collage, creative
processing, self expression, composition, design, layering, painting and much,
much more.
PLEASE NOTE: After the last class Friday and Saturday, you are
welcome to stay and work in your journal. We often go out to dinner (and bring
it back) and spend a couple of hours after class in each other's company while
we talk and work in our journals. I will also have a small amount of goodies
for sale.
Please note there is
a small supply list. (For long time regulars, please make sure to read the updated supply list below each class description.)

“The object isn't to make art, it's to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.”
Robert Henri, author of The Art Spirit, is one of my favorite artists, writers and creative individuals.
Every time I open up a copy of his book I discover a new gem that inspires me to create. I am a firm believer in the fact that inspiration is truly everywhere and that as humans we are driven to make and create.
“In every human being there is the artist, and whatever his activity, he has an equal chance with any to express the result of his growth and his contact with life. I don't believe any real artist cares whether what he does is 'art' or not. Who, after all, knows what art is?”
Immerse yourself in daily sessions of creativity and inspiration. Each session has a different focus. In some, we will start by creating a journal of our own from scratch. After binding the book, we will dive into our work. Fill page after page with luscious layers of paper, paint and pen. Using the key elements and principles of art in fun, fresh ways, you will learn new techniques for collage, mixed media, acrylic painting, journaling, color theory, composition, design and much, much more. Learn new ideas and techniques in creative self expression. Gain confidence in your work, know your tools and your capability to brainstorm and problem solve.
“The artist must be a student.”
As always, my class is geared towards beginner to advanced, there is something for everyone in this workshop. I have been keeping a journal for over 35 years and an art journal for 21 of those years. I am always trying to learn new ways, techniques and approaches to creating. There is always something new to learn and experience.
“The end will be what it will be. The object is intense living, fulfillment; the great happiness in creation.”
As always, should you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net
