Excelsior!
Remembering Stan "The Man" Lee and the impact that he had on the lives of so many, including my family. We grew up reading his comics, watching the cartoons and later, the films (the 70's Spidey films will always have a place in my heart.) David has many stories about Stan and the impact his work had on him. He passed his love for all things "Stan the Man" onto Tristan.
David and I took Tristan out of school twice, both times for Stan Lee. The first time was when our friendly neighborhood comic book shop, Golden Apple Comics reopened and the second time was when Stan got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His comics fill boxes in our apartment. His posters lined our walls over the years. Looking across the room, I see his signature and smile thinking of the many opportunities we had and how truly lucky we were to meet him.
Many of us are heavy hearted today but to quote a good friend (about Stan Lee), "how amazing to live a life that touches so many so deeply." I am grateful for the legacy he left us. He was a superhero in so many ways.
