Sunday with Jodorowsky
Yesterday we visited Blum and Poe Gallery on La Cienega for the first time. David and I went to see pascALEjandro Alchemical Love, the collaborative work of Alejandro Jodorowsky and his wife, Pascale Montandon Jodorowsky. These are the photos that I took of the afternoon.
The artists.
Later that night we went to The Egyptian theatre in Hollywood to see Jodorowsky, a book signing and his two films, The Holy Mountain and Sante Sangre (in 35mm!)
Jodorowsky signed for everyone in line who bought a book (I know that they quickly ran out.) He got through the entire signing line in about 23 minutes!
Just when I thought that the night couldn't possibly get any better... I kept telling David that Nicolas Winding Refn would show up and BAM! who was the moderator? Nic Refn!
“We need to discover the taste of life, really what we are. You have a big marvelous emotion when you start to love yourself. You recognize who you are. The cosmos put millions and million of years into you. You’re a masterwork.”-Jodorowsky
“An artist is a person who opens his perception and sees something you don’t see- for a moment...Poetry still exists.” -Jodorowsky
It's not every day that you get to meet a true maestro and we waited a long time for it to happen. So grateful to live where we live to and for the opportunities that we have.
