David and I attended Michael Moore's new film, Where to Invade Next, at AFI Fest last night. It's definitely the best film we've seen so far at the festival. Moore was in attendance. It's a film that every American should see (it doesn't matter what your politics are as it's an important film to see.) As we left the theatre, we were given two gifts from Michael: a Faber Castell pencil and the application for study in Slovenia (a country that provides free college education for everyone including people outside of Slovenia.)
It's definitely Michael Moore's best film but it's also his saddest film. I cried several times during the film. I also got angry (for what we don't have though the ideas are American ideas including things that are written into our constitution.) I also laughed a lot. When you see it, make sure that you stay until after the credits, if you leave early, you'll miss something.
Today is Johnny Depp in conversation with Scott Cooper and then, maybe, Werner Herzog for Queen of the Desert.
