7 April 2015 Journal Page

Quick reminder for my Southern Californian students, I have two classes scheduled locally this weekend and next month, I only have one scheduled in Los Angeles (I'm still looking for new venues!):

Saturday in Escondido:

26th The Making Place Escondido The Artist's Playground 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Learn how to combine your precious bits of ephemera into a truly one of a kind artist’s journal. Create a playground of self expression and discovery. You will learn how to step back and see things in your artwork that you haven’t noticed before.
I have been working on this class for over two years now and am very eager to share it with you. You will be inspired in this class.

Supply list: scissors, a selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink pad (if you have one), 1″ brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes) OR a few of your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will last you longer), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don’t want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

Sunday in Torrance:

27th Scrampers Torrance The Painted Book 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
By popular demand, I'm teaching a brand new mixed media class. Roll up your sleeves, don your aprons and prepare to get messy! We'll explore a variety of mediums including watercolor, gouache, and much, much more. Create richly painted pages which you will assemble into a canvas covered book. Learn new ways of exploring color and layering in this unique four hour workshop.

Supply list: Apron, tacky glue, scissors, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink pad, and 1" brush to paint and glue (I like chip or bristle brushes).
