I
will be offering fresh, new workshops teaching a variety of NEW
bookbinding, collage, creative processing, self expression, composition,
design, layering and much, much more. My workshops are always
process-based learning while creating a unique product. I am well known
for not traveling light and bring a large variety of supplies including
(but not limited to) collage material, rubber stamps, stencils, pens,
markers, tape and more. There is a small supply list below each class
description.
An Open Heart Journal 2 to 6 p.m.
This
journal was a game changer for me and it could be the same for you.
Working in different sizes has always pushed me to think outside of the
box. I always try to do the same with my classes and in this class you
will be pushed out of your comfort zone but I guarantee you will love
every minute. We'll start by binding the journal with a cool looking
stitch. Then, we'll dive in on the pages creating rich layers by
combining collage with some of my favorite tools.
Prepare
to think large in this class and start to gather your large ephemera
that you've been hoarding. Don't worry what you're going to do with it,
just bring it with you.
Supply list: scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera (you may want to bring all of your LARGE ephemera that you've been saving though any size papers will work, too! Please think about reading this when choosing your images), bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad, 1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

Saturday, November 14th
Visual Poetry 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In
this unique all day workshop, you will create a lavishly layered book
full of color, paper, text, paint, stencils and everything with which we
can get our hands dirty with. We'll combine all new layers of collage,
color, text and images onto the pages. We’ll learn how to push, pull and
rework the pages, digging deep and discovering new visual delights on
each and every page. This is the class you have been waiting for.
Supply list: scissors,
a selection of favorite collage ephemera (please think about reading this when choosing your images), bone folder, cork back metal ruler,
roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink
pad (if you have one), 1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle
brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will last you
longer), an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of
your waxed paper for this.) Feel free to bring a small handful of your favorite
colors of acrylics, paint pens and markers if you'd like though I will have
several for you to use.
I hope to see you there!
