8 March 2015 Journals
"My art is a form of restoration in terms of my feelings to myself and to others." -Louise Bourgeois
It's interesting posting journal pages from March when my current work, while it definitely has my voice, looks and feels so different. I was talking to someone online recently and I can't stress enough, date your pages. If you don't to date the actual pages, date the inside cover when you start and finish the journal. It's always fascinating to me to see the changes in one's work. I wish I had done it with my early work.
I'm teaching a brand new class, The Artist's Playground this Sunday at Scrampers in Torrance. It doesn't matter if you don't keep a journal, have been making collages for years or are a total beginner, there's something for everyone in this class. This book is a work in progress for me and I have loved seeing how many times it has changed over the years. It's been a big favorite with my students, too.
