A Look Back at Becoming: The Art of Visual Dialogue Journal
I wanted to post this as a slideshow but I was surprised (horrified?) to find out that Picasa Web Albums (where I've made all of my slideshows that you see on the right hand side of the blog) has been replaced with Google + Albums which don't allow for the sharing of slideshows (at least not via a blog) yet. So, here's a look back at Becoming. I hope that you enjoy it.
Most of you know that I stress and strive to make each class different and unique from the ones before it. With over sixteen years of teaching and some 400 classes under my belt, I have a lot of repeat students (some whom have been taking my classes for many years.)
What makes this class so different and unique? We'll be working large utilizing a variety of different techniques and approaches. We'll be playing, exploring and experimenting as we go. We'll fill our pages. Then, we're going to create something completely new from them. We'll tear them down and create a journal that is as unique and expressive as we are! We're not stopping there. We'll then go back and rework each page taking the time to process and push ourselves to see how we can make what's on the page work with other elements that we want to use and explore. It will push you in ways you can't even imagine. When I say I can't wait to teach this, I really mean it.
This book was a kick in the pants for me and I loved every second of it. I can't wait to see what everyone else will be doing with the ideas. Thanks again for looking back at this journal with me.
