U R truly an awesome teacher... i am learning just from following your blog & i know this because of the evidence...you teach providing detailed techniques & supplies AND expose an endless supply of options for experimentation and inspiration... THANK YOU MUCH!!! ;)
Hi Kelly, I have a question for you. I did a collage using the face of a woman from a magazine, altered very slightly. Someone asked me...isn't her face copyrighted? Don't you own the right to your own face?....anyway I didn't know and you could save me chasing all around to find out. I have been a fan of yours for a long time..Love your work. Hugs, Diane

Diane,
thanks for the kind words!
My two cents on the copyright laws:
Everyone is going to tell you something different. The laws, as they stand now, do not do what they originally were put in place to do. Instead, the current law (which, in my two cents, will always be re-written to suit those with the most amount of money. That damn mouse will NEVER go out of copyright.)protects corporations and businesses.
Look at the work of Rauschenberg, Cornell, Duchamp, Schwitters, etc... Their work hangs in galleries and is widely revered. They used images from books, magazines, etc...

Just stay away from that damn mouse and the rabbit who likes to munch on carrots... ;)

You can always email me privately, too!
