Was anyone else disappointed with the latest issue of Where Women Create? I really liked about 1/2 of the articles/studios in the magazine. I love horses, but what the hell are they doing in an artists' studio magazine? Did anyone else feel that the magazine was a combination of a paid photo op/advertisement for some of the artists (one in particular)? I love the studios that look USED, LOVED and LIVED in and WORKED in. I do NOT like the "artists" who got all spruced up for a photo op and took up space in this magazine. I really hope that future issues are not like this. I will be debating on plunking my $15 down for this in the future. As one of my artist friends said, "What was with the hair and make up stuff?? What? Is it a 'I get all pretty before I make art thing?'" Hell, I am happiest when I am in my pjs making art in my little corner of the living room floor. I'm not jealous, I'm just irked that they took up space in one of my favorite magazines with fluff like this!

bravo on a completed journal! i have too amy going at one time that i may never finish any of them. i haven't seen WWC yet but have heard comments that it seems really retail focused. i'm with you, give us the grungy, messy, "omg this place is a wreck" studio to look at so we all feel better about our own :)

I agree with you about the magazine.
It wasn't good.

Plus it's laughable that there's all these neat art studios out there.

Most of the studios I've seen in person are MESSY!

I agree with you, it was a slick magazines full of pretty pictures. And I thought what the are horses doing in this magazine. Usually I cant put it down but I have not finished it yet.

I couldn't agree with you more about the current issue of where women create magazine. I was thoroughly dissapointed and wish I had not preordered the magazine!

I agree with you on the magazine. I was very disappointed and will also reconsider buying it in the future, at least until I have a chance to review it first and make sure they are REALLY looking at artist studios....

Yep, this issue of WWC was not up to the quality of the first two issues. I think "Cloth, Paper, Scissors Stuido" which comes out twice a year does a much better job with this subject and they were publishing first. Getting hard in any of the Stampington publications to find the articles for the "self"-advertising.
