Tristan and I jumped in the car and headed on over to the Grove last night...

Tristan thought that it was the coolest thing that there was a book in the front window at Barnes & Noble his Mom's name on it (hee hee).
It was none other then Artist Extraordinaire, Angela Cartwright signing copies of both In This House and Mixed Emulsions. Several of the houses were there (it was wonderful seeing them again!!) in addition to some of Angela's gorgeous handpainted photographs on canvas-just awe dropping artwork. I thought that the turnout was excellent!! Before the signing, Angela gave a short talk giving gracious kudos to her Father for getting her started with art. If you ever have the opportunity, take a class or listen to Angela talk about art. We both have a lot of the same philosophies that you can't make a mistake! Paint over it! :) It was a ton of fun being there!!

Did you know that the Quartz (Quality Art Zine) Pasticcio #2 is available? It's one of my favorite zines-my favorite, Quartz! :) It's full color and jam packed with ART and info. In this issue there's a spotlight on one of my favorite paint companies, Stewart Gill (I load up on them from time to time when I am at the Stamp Act in MA). There are TONS of pages just jam packed with full color, FULL PAGE artwork. There's also a great interview done by Sarah on Angela! I love their Art Attack section-this issue it features two of my favorite artists: Chagall and Mary Blair. I won't give it all away, but you won't be disappointed!! (Did I mention that there's clip art for you to use, too?) Kudos, ladies!

He is a cute guy, and rightfully proud of his mum!

Look, you have to stop with the book recommendations! I need to save......but I want to buy books ....you mention too many good ones!!

Stewart Gill paints are the best - did you get the Byzantia or Alchemy? What the heck, they are all wonderful. Their metallics are fab too. Huge fan of SG paints, a local Scottish company. Enjoy.
