Find a playful, colorful meditation space in paper, paint, and pen:

Journaling for YOU

an all NEW Art Journaling Workshop Series

6 July 2024 11 am PDT

(each session stands on its own, the first Saturday of every month)

1 hour live session (later available as a recording)

This is not a step by step workshop.

This is not, "make what I am making."

This is:

  • a prompt based workshop where the goal is to create unique to you, expressive, and honest art journal pages.

  • an hour long session for creative folks interested in expressing themselves with the mediums of paper, paint, and a small variety of mark making tools.

At the end of each hour long session, additional time will be given for folks to share work as well as ask questions both on and off camera.

I will guide you through a variety of exercises in collage, paint application, mark making, and journaling. These are all exercises that are designed to inspire, generate ideas, and to create deeply personal and unique to you pages.

Most students will finish one page in an hour. Others may make more than one page. Some may just get started. All of my workshops are work at your own pace with a follow-up handout and a recording shared a few days after the session.

This workshop series is designed for creativity, sharing, nurturing, and support*.

You will need:

  • Paper (substrate, adhesive, rag, something to glue on, scissors or ruler)
  • Paint (brush, your paint of choice, any additional painting tools YOU like)
  • Mark Making Tools (see paint, also pencils, markers, crayons, whatever YOU use)

 Spend time creating with me!

If you can't make the live session, there's always a work at your own pace recording and handout provided afterwards.

Registration is limited to ensure time for everyone to ask questions and share.

PWYC?

Those of you who know me, know that I have always tried to keep my workshops as accessible and as affordable as possible. In an effort to try to make my workshops even more accessible to as many people as possible, I thought that from time to time, I will offer a PWYC workshop.

I understand that times are tough right now and that maybe you can truly only afford to buy me a cup of tea (English Breakfast and black, please) but, maybe you are in the position to pay full price or to help pay for someone who can't. We have to help each other as much as we can right now. It's all greatly appreciated and it helps me to continue teaching, sharing ideas and making art.

Your support and interest in my work helps to keep food on our table and a roof over my family's heads.

(Only because I've been asked, my regular price for a one hour workshop is $30.)

I hope that you're thinking, sounds great, I'm in!

Supplies needed:
USE WHAT YOU HAVE.

  • substrate (whatever you usually work in)
  • collage material (small amount of favorite images, background papers. Think about reading THIS), favorite adhesive, metal ruler (for tearing), scissors, something to glue on and a rag/paper towel
  • paint (acrylics), brushes/palette knives, favorite painting tools, paper towels/rags, plus water in your water bucket
  • Favorite mark making tools: paint markers, pencils, water soluble crayons, etc... I used what I have, you use what YOU have. (I will send you a specific supply list of what I used upon registration. Again, I want you to use what YOU already have.)

(I'll send a list of the specifics I use so you have it upon registration. Use what YOU have.)

**Disclaimer: I do not work for or represent any company or brand. The views I share on my favorite tools and brands are from more than 25 years of working hands on with acrylic paints and mixed media supplies. No one pays me to sell their wares nor do I receive any free product. I only recommend what I love and use.

*I am NOT an art therapist. These workshops are NOT meant to be a substitute for actual therapy.**

Can't make the live workshop?

The main part of my workshops are always recorded. However, please note: for those who are camera shy, during the main part of the workshop I am pinned and students are muted (but, encouraged to unmute and ask questions!) Additionally, before and after the session, there is time for students to ask questions, share, and engage with each other and me, WHILE NOT BEING RECORDED.

You'll receive a special link and a class handout within 2 days after the workshop ends. You'll also have access to me should you have any questions AFTER the workshop ends.

Remember, enrollment is limited.

Make time for your creativity.

How do I sign up?

As always, thank you for your support!

I hope to see you soon!
