The Threads

One of the things that I've been trying to do is to study different artists, especially artists whose work I don't appreciate or understand. There's always something to learn. 

I especially love listening to artist interviews, art podcasts or audio books while I work. 

Last month I saw an exhibit on Gauguin in San Francisco. Gauguin's work doesn't sing to me like other artists do. Yet, there were a couple of paintings that caught my eye. A drawing entitled ,"The Woman from Arles" was my favorite part of the exhibit. Van Gogh based six paintings on that sketch. That drawing made the whole exhibit worth my time.
