9 and 10th of September 2016 Journal Pages

David and I started watching David Lynch: The Art Life documentary last night: 

“I don’t know when I started using the term ‘the art life,’ but one of the things Bushnell Keelerdid, besides just living life as a painter, was he gave me Robert Henri’s book The Art Spirit. Ican’t remember much about it now, but ‘the art spirit’ became ‘the art life,’ and I had this ideathat you drink coffee, you smoke cigarettes, and you paint. And that’s it. Maybe girls come into it a little bit. But basically it’s the incredible happiness of working and living that life.”

You had me at the words, "The Art Life..." Isn't this how it should be (okay, minus the coffee, cigarettes and women for me but you know what I mean...) I'm looking forward to finishing it later on tonight. I'm really enjoying just listening to Lynch talk, watching him paint and seeing him interact with his young daughter. It's definitely a film to watch if you are a fan of Lynch's work and/or an artist.
