27 July 2016 Journal Page

I'm home from Art and Soul Portland. It was a great week and I am still trying to process everything and get caught up. I'm submitting new classes for 2018 so hopefully, I'll see you there. This week is full of doctor appointments for David and math. What a change from last week!

If you are in Portland, the Japanese Gardens can't be missed. I am hoping to do a photo heavy post when I can get on Tristan's computer.

Mom and I also trekked to Collage, The Strand, the Redwoods, Santa Cruz and more. With all of the rain, we weren't able to drive down the coast of Oregon and Northern California as we had planned but we still did a lot. No rest for the weary as we soaked it all in.

My upcoming classes include San Diego (this weekend), Los Angeles, Fort Collins, Colorado; Fremont, California; Savage, Maryland and Phoenix, Arizona. All of which you can find out about here.

As some of you may know, two of our art friends had major health problems this past weekend. Mary Jo McGraw suffered a heart attack and Teesha Moore had a stroke while undergoing emergency abdominal surgery. If you'd love to pass along some love and well wishes in the form of mail art and cards both Mary Jo and Teesha could definitely use some kindness in their mailboxes. Both women are trail blazers in the rubber stamp and mixed media world. I do not know where our art world would be without either of these women and I don't want to think of a world without either one in it. Let's send them some colorful love!

Chelsea asked that we send cards, etc. to her address for Mary Jo McGraw:
c/o Chelsea Fritze
1420 East Montana Avenue
Coeur D'Alene ID 83814

Teesha's mailing address (in care of her Mom):

Any postcards or small pieces of art (please nothing large or heavy as Darlene will be mailing these to Teesha) to Darlene Buchanan, p.o. box 164, Pismo Beach California. 93448

Michelle Ward is also collecting prayer flags for Teesha:

Proposal:  Make a Prayer Flag for Teesha
Size:  5" wide x 7" high, any shape (see sketch)
Material:  paper or fabric - work your magic
Requirements:  double sided, sign the back, include a minimum
of 4" ribbon or tie from each top corner.

You can mail to me and I will assemble and send in a box. I hope to mail by April 24.

Please RSVP if you plan on participating.

If you want to invite additional friends - the more the merrier!

Sending lots of love and healing thoughts to both artists who are very much loved and cherished throughout the world.
