Book of Intentions: Saturday, December 3rd at Maria's Studio in Fremont, CA
We're coming up to the busy time of year, a time when it seems that each holiday or event is right around the corner. In the rush of the holiday season, we tend to lose track of the present and miss the smaller, every day things that are right in front of us.
I am teaching a new class that I've developed especially for this time of the year. I chose Maria's studio to debut the class as it is a creative, nurturing, encouraging and inviting space. Plus, I have very special plans for those of you who sign up for Saturday's class...
This is a one day special workshop (Saturday, December 3rd) with a special (optional) bonus second day (Sunday, December 4th) adventure in the city: on the go shopping, sight seeing and on-the-go art making!
The Book of Intentions
Saturday, December 3rd

Maria's Studio in the Niles Section of Fremont (Information will be sent once you sign up though if you have any questions, please email me.)
Sunday's On-the-Go Art Adventure is still in the planning stages and is open to students who sign up for Saturday's workshop. We will be going to some of my favorite art and inspiration places (yes, that means paper, pen and bookstores!) Bring your journal and a very small on the go art kit, you never know when and where inspiration will strike us. Please note any costs on Sunday (transportation, food, etc...) are *not included* in Saturday's workshop fee. This is a pay as you play and we will each be on our own for food and fun stuff on Sunday.
The Book of Intentions is a fresh, new workshop that teaches a variety of NEW
ideas involving collage, creative processing, self expression, composition,
design, layering, painting and much, much more.
My workshops are always
process-based learning while creating something completely unique to you.
Please note there is a small supply list.

Payments for the Fremont, CA workshop must be made in advance. Due to the fact that the teacher is traveling from Los Angeles and must prep for the workshops in advance, there are no cancellations allowed. No refunds.
You may send someone else in your place if you are unable to attend the workshop, or you will receive a kit for the class. You can either pay via paypal (see button below) or send a check or money order. Once you've signed up for the workshop, you will be sent the address and directions to the workshop location. If you have ANY questions you can email me. I will also give you my cell phone number so you contact me.
The class fee includes a vast array of mediums and materials to complete the necessary project. It is well known that I do not travel light to any of my classes. I will be bringing such things are:

- bookbinding supplies (thread, awl, needles)
- rubber stamps
- ink pads
- decorative tape
- stencils
- pens and markers
- gel medium
- collage ephemera and much, much more.
If you have any problems with the paypal buttons (they can be finicky sometimes, please email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net)

As we close 2016 and welcome 2017 with open arms, I want to set the tone for the coming year, one of possibility, creativity and connection.
We will begin this class with a bit of recycling. You will transform found ephemera, acrylics, some of my most favorite art supplies, as well as a few new tricks and techniques into a new and unique to you journal. I have never taught journal making quite like this before and I am excited to share it with you!
You will create entirely unique to you pages that set your intentions for the coming year. Think of it as a vision board meets planner all combined and rolled up into a very expressive (and impressive) art journal. Learn to combine the visual with the written to create soulful and inspirational pages.
Lao Tzu once said,"To see things in the seed, that is genius." What ideas will spark your interest in this all day, (painted) hands on workshop? Be prepared to have fun, get messy and leave inspired!
If you have tools and toys at home that you haven't played with in awhile, why not set some aside and bring them to class? Better yet, we will also host a mini art supply swap! Bring some of your old favorite art supplies and trade them in for new favorite toys!
As with all of my Saturday workshops in Fremont, you are invited to stay after class for dinner (on your own) as well as late night art making and great company.
Supply list: an apron, scissors, a small selection of favorite collage ephemera (think about reading this when choosing your images and papers),
bone folder, cork back metal ruler, a full roll of paper towels OR old rags,
permanent black ink pad (only if you have one), a container for your paint water, 1 to 2" brush to glue and paint
(I like chip or bristle brushes) as well as a few, smaller, detailed brushes, a few of your favorite glue sticks
(large glue sticks will last you longer), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)
I hope to see YOU there!
