What I'm Reading

I've been digging through my personal shelves and reading (and in the case of Corita Kent re-reading) some of my favorite books on creativity and art making.

I love this quote from Corita, "We have no art. We do everything as well as we can." I think that's a good motto to live by. It leaves the judgment and labels off of something and encourages us to focus on creating and creating well.

I am hoping to weave some of the things that I've gleaned from these books into my classes over the next few months.

In David news, he had his kidney stent removed. He's going to have another ctscan as well as a stress test on his heart within the next week. His urologist is still fighting for the second opinion that he wants David to have and we appreciate that. David is feeling better and we have gone out a few times to our favorite haunts (nothing he has to stand for or walk around too long at.) He is anemic right now and because he's also lost a lot of hemoglobin, he tires easily. We are trying to keep everything balanced but it is still difficult to get everything done in a day. We really appreciate the love and support.

Good to hear that you and David are able to get out some. Even brief changes in a routine can lift your spirits.
Sending more love and support to you and David. Thank you for the update. I have been concerned. Hugs, kathy
