Los Angeles Summer 2015 Classes
Summer is here and I am looking forward to teaching two brand new classes at the Book Arts Los Angeles Center (at the location where Stampin From the Heart used to be.)
These are my ONLY local classes for July and August.
July 5th: An Artist's Playground
August 16th: A Gypsy Heart Journal
BookArtsLA 11720 Washington Place Los Angeles, CA 90066
Each class is four hours in length.
Class time is Noon to 4 p.m.
Cancellation policy: Students are allowed to cancel 72 hours (3 days) before the class. After that, you can send someone else in your place, transfer to another one of my classes or receive a kit.
The class fee is $85 per person which includes a vast array of mediums and materials to complete the necessary project. It is well known that I do not travel light to any of my classes. I will be bringing such things as:
- all materials necessary to complete the project (handmade paper, decorative paper, board, glue, etc...)
- bookbinding supplies (thread, awl, needles)
- rubber stamps
- ink pads
- decorative tape
- stencils
- pens and markers
- gel medium
- collage ephemera and much, much more.
If you have a question or if there are problems with the paypal button, please email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Sunday, July 5th:
The Artist's Playground- Learn how to
combine your precious bits of ephemera into a truly one of a kind artist's
journal. Create a playground of self expression and discovery. You will learn
how to step back and see things in your artwork that you haven't noticed
before.
I have been working on this
class for over two years now and am very eager to share it with you. You will
be inspired in this class.
Supply
list: scissors, a selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone
folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent
black ink pad (if you have one), 1" brush to glue (I like chip or
bristle brushes) OR a few of your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will
last you longer), roll of waxed paper OR an old catalog or magazine to
glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)
Sunday, August 16th:
A Gypsy Heart- Construct a rich, lusciously layered portrait of you in journal
form by bringing together color, text and images onto the page. You will make
visually stunning and authentic pages, all contained in a hardcover book bound
by your own hands. You will leave class with several pages completed along with
new ideas for the rest of your book.
