Honesty

When I sit down to create my pages, I'm having a conversation with myself. My pages are created for me. I want to be as honest as possible with myself (as well as others) so I try not to hold anything back. I've had people become enraged at my pages while others have cried, laughed, nod their heads in recognition and some will ask simply, "why?"

I tend not to explain my pages. I offer them here to encourage others that your journal can be anything that you want and need it to be. It's your place to open up and explore. It's your place to be you. It's your place to simply be.

I believe we do not need to explain ourselves, not anything about ourselves, ever. We are there to be taken at face value, known if people want to take the trouble. What could we possibly say, other than "I'm just me, being me." And the same holds true for them. P.S. You always find the most dramatic, expressive photos to include on your pages. xo

I was taken aback that some folks have become enraged with your pages. What do you make of this type of reaction? this sort of reaction would be unsettling for me. How do you deal with these angry rants?

I'm so glad you share your pages here. I love seeing them and a lot of times they resonate with me. Hope you're well. Hugs.

@Marylinn, Tricia and Sandy-thank you.

@Abby-I deal with the rants by just continuing to be me and making my pages. There was a point several years ago where I censored myself after a few angry comments but not anymore. It's MY journal and MY blog and if folks don't like what they see, well...

I for one am glad you express openly and honestly in your pages. I find it refreshing and it somehow makes it easier for other to do the same. If it is not honest, it's not art at its best.

Thank you for being you Kelly!!
