Gratitude

27 September 2012 Journal Page
I try to acknowledge the many things that I am thankful for year round, not just on one day of the year.

I'm grateful for my husband. David is always there for me when I need him. His hand in mine means the world to me. It's also nice having a fellow biblio and cinephile around the house. I couldn't ask for a better partner and friend.

I'm grateful for our son. Tristan has a heart of gold and is always ready to help whenever I need it. His big hugs and kind words always fill my heart. I love my boy even when he's playing video games (Lego Batman 2 DC Superheroes) in my ear as I try to write this post.

I'm grateful for my family and friends. Even though my heart is broken and I'm having a hard day today, I'm thankful that I had one of the best Daddies in the world. I miss him every day and there's not a day that goes by without me wanting to pick up the phone and call him (or that I think the phone is going to ring and he'll be on the other end.) I'm thankful that my Mom is here and that we all have each other to lean on (even when we're miles apart.) I love you, Mom! I'm grateful for my little sister, Erin and her precious son, Jack. "I love you guys!"

I'm grateful for all of my students (each and every one of you both in person as well as online), many of whom I am happy to call my friends. I really don't know where I'd be without you guys. I am extremely thankful to be able to have a job that I love and adore. My students are the ones to thank for that (as well as the venues where I teach!) Words can't express the amount of gratitude that I have for you. Thank you. I sincerely mean it.

I am grateful to have found an art form in which I can pour my heart out into as much as I need to. I'm thankful that I have two hands, the gift of sight and the capability to cut, paste and write into my little books that nourish my heart, fill my soul and keep me sane.

I'm grateful to YOU for taking the time to read this long post. Whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope that you have a wonderful day full of things that nourish and fill your heart, mind and soul.

"Silent gratitude isn't very much to anyone." Gertrude Stein

I was really, actually thinking early this morning that I was grateful for you, Kelly. I would not be journaling and blogging like I am, and loving it, if you had not inspired me three years ago. Peace and love to you, Kelly. Kathy

I am thankful for you Kelly. You have taught me so much - and not just journaling. I truly love the times I have taken classes from you. Your insight into art and life has helped me more than you know. And your daily blog is something I look forward to reading. I always find something that rings true with me.

And I am glad I got the opportunity, brief as it was, to meet your dad. You are truly blessed and I know he continues to inspire you and encourage you and laugh with you.

I just received one of your journals in the mail from our dear friend Sharon Bennett. I am thankful to have you both in my heart. Even though I've never met you I just know we'd hit it off as kindred spirits. I do so enjoy your journal pages and everything you write. You constantly remind me how simple journaling can be or it can be as complex as I dare make it. I am thankful to know you are in the art world and I am a part of that world.
