O Lucky Me

Home from seeing O' Lucky Man with Malcolm McDowell at the Aero in Santa Monica. This is our third time seeing McDowell live and in the flesh. I took a video of him talking before the film and I hope to share it with you soon. It was a very good night, indeed.

I consider myself very lucky to live in Los Angeles and we try to take advantage of it as much as we can. Now if we could only get our son who wants to work in film to also appreciate these things...

If you are in or near Southern California, I would highly recommend you check out the Aero Theatre schedule. They are my favorite theatre to see a film at especially when the guests are right there in front of you. I also really appreciate the fact that they show FILM and not just digital prints.

My favorite theatres in Los Angeles are:

Aero
The Academy on Wilshire
New Beverly
Cinefamily
Egyptian
and the Nuart (though we haven't been there in ages.)

It's expensive for the three of us to see a film so we usually have to wait for something rare or very special. I love The Academy as the three of us can afford to go as the tickets are $13 (total!!!) Not to mention that they often have special guests as well.

Nothing beats seeing a 35mm film shown on the big screen the way it's supposed to be seen.

I LOVE O Lucky Man! It's been ages since I've seen it. I loved the soundtrack, too. Brilliant! Thank you for this happy memory today!
Bright blessings,
