A view of my studio floor

My "studio", my "living room" or whatever you want to call it is still a work in progress (the landlord still isn't 100% 'finished' with the work that they started since we still are without the new blinds they promised). Not to mention the fact that we're still (slowly) cleaning and rearranging things. I have two boxes of kids' vhs tapes that need to be mailed to my nephew in Boston sitting waiting. I have bags and bags (all empty) that I need to find homes for (I would make a great bag lady, or so I've been told). I also am trying to figure out some ideas on creating very tall, narrow bookshelves. Slowly, but surely, the living room is coming into place. Yay!

This is what the floor looks like as I work. It's messier than usual because I was making a book from scratch and had all of my goodies spread out. I'm beyond super excited about the new journal I am working in. I'm always excited when it comes time to start a new journal but this one has me totally jazzed. I have big ideas for this one and it involves the creation of a new 12 hour class around it (if things go as planned). Yes, 12 hours. I'm giddy with possibility right now. Don't worry, I'll share the pages here. I also have two additional new (completed) journals that I will be posting soon.

So, what are you working on lately? I'd love to hear! Post your links in the comments below if you'd like to share pictures.

Glad your apartment is finally coming together, Kelly. I'm intrigued by your new maybe 12 hour class. Keep us posted.

As for me, since my return from Israel on the 26th of Feb., I haven't worked in my art journals--until tonight. I watched the Strathmore tutorial (Linda Blinn, week 2) today and began preparing 2 pages.

I am also reading Pam Carriker's new book Art at the Speed of Life.

I can't wait to see the new journal. I want to work on something soon. I need Shelby's help to move some things around that are still too heavy for me. I have ideas that I jot down though and supplies just waiting and it seems that late at night when I should be sleeping they call my name. Sigh....soon. I hate depending on others to help me get things situated.

I am glad to hear your apartment is finally getting finished. That must be rough. I can't wait to see your new journal and the two other completed ones!

I am working on simpler more un processed pages which totally goes against my style/nature but liking how these come out.

What am I working on? Oh my! I am decluttering, destashing and de-hoarding in my studio and soon to expand all over the house in anticipation of our move to sunny Florida in May. It's hard because I have to really pare things down. BTW, that's why I didn't buy any tape from you. lol
Peace & Love,
Barb

I am kind of a shelf freak. I try to have my shelves have very little depth. It helps because I can see where things are and I can't hoard...well not as much. I had my husband build a spice shelf in the kitchen that is two inches deep and 4 ft. by 5 ft. he moaned and shook his head that it would look awful and not be very useful etc. It is my favorite shelf. He built it on my big table and then nailed it directly to the wall. the paint of the wall behind is great and I can always find my spices.

I'm working on my new blog What!create? Will see how it works out. Friday nite a few of us are planning a create? nite and bringing our whatever's and working on them.
The theme is sparkle and glitz. I'm showing them how to emboss. I'm also attempting to do Zentangle.
