Leaving for Boston...safe winged travels for us today. :)
I have my journal and some reading material. I also printed out all of my handouts from Carla's drawing class. Tristan and I are going to draw on the plane. Carla's classes (and her new book) are amazing. They do what they are supposed to do: get you to draw and get you to see things in a new way. Can you ask for anything more?
I was just thinking about what could quite possibly be one of the nicest things that anyone has ever said to me (as a teacher). One of my students (and friends) told me that she takes a lot of classes. She especially loves bookbinding and painting/paper classes as those are her passions. She said that the difference between the other journals that she's made and the ones that she's made with me is that the journals she's made with me, she actually uses. I keep thinking about it and smiling. She didn't just make my day. Say something nice to someone today-anyone! Even a stranger. You never know how bright it might make their day. :)
Blog Love:
I jumped at this Hambly offer. I have been stalking, I mean reading their blog watching and waiting for the pen & ink transparencies to be released...
Seth invites us for a sneak peek into his studio space
Today is the Day
Cupcakes, anyone? They got me at Chocolate and peanut butter buttercream
One of my favorite blogs
Gina has been sharing her fabulous journal here
A Sort of Autobiography by Warren Craghead
Fabulous Flag Sculptures
If you're in San Diego, put these events on your To Do list. Then come back and tell me about them. I'd love to go!
An extremely well written article on air conditioning.
