Randomness...

Is it just me, or does anyone else get all goose-pimply looking at a book like this:
Snippets and treasures and bits and pieces:I dropped this book off at Frenzy Stamper in Scottsdale, AZ for my weekend of teaching there in February. I'm excited!! There are 5 samples (new classes!!!) in the store now.

Would you believe I'm still putting stuff away from my trip? I'm teaching this weekend and prepping for that, too. Busy busy here!!!

OMG Kelly! Did you make that? I love it! I want to take your class so, so bad. This is an awesome book. You should really consider an online class with a class kit for next year in the spring when no one has much going on. I would take it since I can't find the time to just hop on over to CA for a live in person class. LOL

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Oh, Kelly - I get goosebumps when I see completed journals. I just want to hold them and read them through cover to cover. I wish I lived closer so I could attend one of your classes. When's the next time you are in the Pacific Northwest? Thanks for posting these.

No goosebumps....but LOTS of drooling! I'd love to be able to sit and look through each and every page. Fortunately, I have several of my own...thanks to Kelly! I love all of the books you've inspired me to make after taking your classes. I DO sit and go through them page by page...many times. I want to thank you, Kelly, for opening up a whole new artistic world for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
With Love,
Raine

Hi Marci,

I'm actively looking into places to teach in OR and WA. I am SO itching to come up there and visit!! If you know of any locations that are interested in workshops like mine, please let me know. I haven't been up North in a longgggggggg time and am really missing that area!!!!

Thanks!

Interesting––but a no brainer to do, and seen in
scrapbook classes in several states. Your larger mixed media work seems like it is more your own. Why settle for teaching and selling work that seems so unoriginal, and worst yet, hastily put together. Disappointing to see.

Same concept over and over. Buy lots and lots of
colored patterned paper and cut it up, and combine it with other colored patterned papers. Now apply this concept and create handmade signature book.
You are a talented artist, why aren't you stretching your skills and ideas more?

Hey Rachel and and Meghan,

Thanks for coming out of shadows and leaving "kind" comments on my blog!

Yeah, this was a book I made in March of this year, but I thought I'd share a new photo of it...a new way of looking at it.

Just like with PAINT, there are HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS Of ways of doing something. I'm determined to figure out what these new ideas are. This is one of the many reasons I teach-to present a NEW way of looking at things.

You either get it or you don't.

By the way, if anyone wants to see the inside of this book you can check it out here from March of 2008:

Thanks for your time :)

Yeah I do. That book is awesome.. I need another push. I guess we better figure out a way for you to come back and teach in San Jose.

ooh, it makes me want to flip thru it to pore over each and every page. After seeing these pics, I think I need to go and get out the paint, paper, and glue... darn it, I haven't even cleaned up my craft supplies from the last project yet, but painting is much more fun!

I definitely will be seeing you that weekend in February!!

(and I definitely disagree with the "anonymous" comments- all it takes is one look at any of your journals to understand that your books are a deeply personal piece of YOU, not unoriginal AT ALL.)
