More Randomness...Paper Love...Playing with the camera...
It's been somewhat of a stressful week (new school, getting back in the groove, all that kinda stuff that most of us seem to face this time of year...), so here are some random shots I thought I'd share.
PAPER! I spent the morning with a friend (both of us trying to get our minds off of our kids going back to school and just wanting to get out of the house). I had to run to Nova Color for some mediums for this weekend (teaching at Artful Living in Ojai!!). Also stopped at Graphaids and found a couple of fun new toys and some yummy pink and green tye-dye ish paper. I popped on into PULP on La Brea and found yummy NEW paper. The really scary thing is-They JUST got this paper in...*every* time I go in and buy paper they tell me it's brand spankin' new. What, can I smell the stuff or something?!?! LOL!!! SCARY! I told the man behind the counter that I just have a nose for new paper and that they made me very happy getting new paper in...especially new paper I have yet to see anywhere else! YUM!
Yesterday I had to do a couple of loads of laundry in the basement. I saw some fun things while I was down there (hey, I look for anything to keep my mind off of the fact that I have to do laundry *down stairs*...I wouldn't mind it so much if we had TWO washers and TWO dryers (like we used to-*ahem* reduction in services when they took the machines away, but we won't go there now will we?). I wouldn't mind it so much if I hadn't opened the dryer and it was filled with DIRT. What did someone dry a frickin' potted plant or something?? It sure looked like it. Grrr...). Any ways, here's what I "saw" while I did the laundry:
A serendipitous painted circle in someone's parking space:Yummy pink flowers in full bloom next to the dumpster:One of the many "finds" of one of our neighbors who loves to um, "collect" things (from the dumpsters, trash, street, etc...) and re-sell them. I love how the bike is missing the seat.Boots and sneakers from the same happy dumpster diving neighbor: Inside the laundry room:Ye Olde Stairs leading down to the laundry room:*****
I love lusting over other people's art.
On my wish list:
A Mae jane print
Marisa Haedike's Book
Christine Mason Miller's book (surprise! *Me* want another book? LOL!!)
A crocheted rock
Anything from Sara
For my friend to make prints of this artwork and sell them
A whole day to make a bunch of "painted up" versions of these
*****
I'll be back from teaching some time Sunday night. I probably won't update the blog 'til Monday (but don't quote me!) In the meantime, if you haven't, make sure you scoot on over to Seth's website, The Altered Page. If you haven't been there, RUN do not walk and do not stop til ya get there!!!
