Tristan and I are back in L.A. Yesterday was a very long day filled with lots of flying time, a 2 1/2 hour lay over in Chicago (I don't recommend breakfast at Miller's Pub in the airport), errands to do when we got home and ending the night at the George Pal Centennial at the Academy (where we saw War of the Worlds on the big screen and watched a panel with Joe Dante, Bob Baker, Russ Tamblyn, Ann Robinson, Barbara Eden, and Micky Moore. GREAT presentation and loved seeing Russ Tamblyn!!!!)
Here are some shots from Tuesday. I took over 200 pictures that day and will have more to share. The drive through Boston:
The view behind The House of the Seven Gables:
The back of the House of the 7 Gables:
The side view:I've done the tour of this house nine gazillion times, so we skipped it this time. Last time I was in the house we did the tour of The Spirits of the Seven Gables which costumed actors bring to life the main characters in Hawthorne's book.
Here's the parking lot of the House:
Here's the main reason why my sister wanted to visit Salem, MA. Ye Olde Pepper Companie, America's Oldest Candy Company.
I love the old cobblestones:
Next stop, The Hammond Castle.
FYI, for those of you in So CA, now through November 1st the Academy is presenting Frederic Back: A Life's Drawings in the foyer of the Linnwood Dunn Theater. Back is one of my family's favorite artists and filmmakers.
