Since when do they serve you plastic in your food? David, Tristan and I decided (well, it was really MY fault because I wanted to go there) for a little treat last night that we'd go Acapulco Restaurant in Burbank.
We ordered our food and it came ultra fast like it usually does at Acapulco. (We've never eaten here before usually it was the one on La Cienega which is now closed). So, we dig in. David is about halfway through with his food (he eats fast) when he pulls out this piece of extremely sharp ragged PLASTIC from his mouth. Luckily he hadn't bitten down or worse, swallowed the damn thing!!!! He says "LOOK!" Neither of us can believe it and we both push our plates away.
(Dummy me who is flabbergasted but not totally shocked, had the camera right next to her and I was so upset I forgot to take a picture of the thing!) It was about an inch to an inch and a half long and about a 1/2" wide, very sharp points on either end and very ragged in between. I wave the waiter over and tell him. He brings the manager over who actually picks up the thing (remember it was in David's mouth) and asks what it is (like we are supposed to know). We tell him it looks like a piece of hard, sharp, broken plastic that was IN his food. Oh, and the part I forgot to mention was that the food he was eating was a Veggie Fajita. Fajitas here are brought out on SIZZLING HOT Plates. So that means, this piece of plastic was on an extremely hot plate. Who knows if the damn thing melted or not INTO the food!!! The manager says he will go talk to the cooks and that he is going to comp us for our food. I feel so sick and disgusted at this point that I just want to get out of there!!! I had flashbacks to the time when I was a teen and ate a Burger King Chicken sandwich and there was a frigging TOOTH in my sandwich (um and it wasn't mine!) Chicken do not have teeth. That was the last time I ate at Burger King.
None of us slept very well last night with visions of plastic dancing in our heads.
Beware Acapulco at 3133 W. Olive Avenue in Burbank, across from NBC. You don't know what you will find in your food.
So, just a note to shout out "Watch what you eat!" BLECH!!!!!!

I ate at Burger King in 1989.. found something in the burger.
NEVER ate there again.
In fact I never ate another hamburger after that.
19 years burger free.
The memory still haunts me.
I'm kinda glad you didn't take a picture...
the visual in my brain is enough :)
