Two journal pages I finished last night...I really like 'em. The bird on the right is from the book The Bedside Book of Birds (which I don't have and just discovered! I am looking for a copy cheap). Someone gave me the image.

I. Love. This. Book. I am having a hard time putting it down. Chris Ware's The Acme Novelty Datebook Volume 2 has something for everyone in here. Volume 1 is also a must have. I love his style. I love the notes that accompany some of the drawings..his little musings, bitchings, whinings (whining about how much "he sucks"-LOL, only his eyes. The book is a prime example of an excellent artist who is like most artists and doesn't have enough confidence in his own work). I'm seeing the book everywhere now-at most major bookstores but remember to support your Mom & Pop Comic bookstores tomorrow-they'll be on the shelves there!

There are two books left in 2007 that I am on the hunt for:

Julie Doucet's 365 Days
and
Julie Morstad's Milk Teeth

Must be something about the name Julie...

My hubby sent me this AMAZING link of a 1000 Frames of Hitchcock. It. Is. Amazing. It brings each Hitchcock film down to 1000 frames. What I never noticed about North By Northwest is the amount of Blue, Red and White in it...
