Third and FINAL post for the day-
Has anyone ever shipped a car before?

Bueller.
Bueller.
Anyone? Anyone?

Seriously. The Family & I are trying to work out the details of shipping my sister's car from Boston to Los Angeles. Has anyone ever done anything like this before? Thanks...

Shipping a car, eh? Would you prefer first class or Priority Mail? :) LOL...weak attempt at humor....

I think I would begin by contacting the AAA and see if they have referrals?

We tried to ship a car from Atlanta to San Francisco. It didn't work out. Two weeks later, while we expected to see the car here - it was still waiting for ?!? in Atlanta!!! Luckily, I have "crazy" (in a sweet way) parents, it took them half an hour to decide that it will be faster if they drive the car than to wait on the bad service place. I hope you'll have more luck!

Yes. It had an accident in NC and had to go home to FL via truck about a month later. It was transported by one of those *grasshopper* trucks that carry vehicles. A moving company arranged the transport via insurance company.

We have shipped cars during our moves across country. Sometimes they have actually been hauled right in a normal (very large) moving van and other times the moving people had a company who was in charge of bringing us our car and it arrived on a flatbed truck. This was always a state-to-state move so I would suggest calling United or Atlas and ask them how to go about doing it !!! Good luck....and just so you know, we never had any problems !!!!

Yes, Chuck had his Mustang shipped from AZ to Silicon Valley; they put it inside one of those large household transport rigs. It arrived just fine.

Many years and a lifetime ago, our vehicle was shipped from Germany to New York - that was fine too...
