(***Please note: Each of my collage classes are like my "mixed media" classes in the sense that:

A. I do not repeat techniques-each class you will learn something new and completely different from any of my other classes

B. The classes are chock full of unique, new and unusual techniques!

C. You will walk out with a fully detailed handout (completely with Kelly drawings) so that you can go home and experiment (even more) with what we learned in class and you also will get extra techniques that we didn't have time to do in class, but I like to give you guys more than what we have time to do in class so that you will go home and "play" with the new ideas

D. The classes are FUN filled and extremely technique/process oriented. You WILL learn. You WILL explore. You WILL create. You WILL laugh.

Not only will we be creating a funky, large book in this class, but we will also explore "what to do" inside the book: COLLAGE! Mixed media painting techniques!! All NEW techniques IN the book!!! Walk out of class with a fully bound journal with several pages completed. Learn that there aren't any "rules" and that you really can't "mess it up". Embrace your inner child artist in this class!!

Reach for the scissors: Composition/design class
As artists we love to spend our hours happily cutting, pasting and gluing. Would you like to expand your knowledge of collage while learning some new design and composition tips, tricks and techniques? Then this is the perfect class for you! Kelly has developed a brand new series of classes that focus on compostion and design skills and techniques. These are techniques that professional artists use (ya know, the ones that are making money with their artwork.) Like all of her classes she strives to make each one unique and different. You will learn a plethora of new techniques in this class. I guarantee you'll be reaching for your scissors, glue stick and any paper you can get your hands on!

Long Tall Journal
Utilizing paper, canvas, matboard, and glue we will construct an elegant and unusual journal. Bring together paper and ribbon ephemera on the cover of the journal using your own personal touch while you select from my collection of precious papers. The binding stitch is simple to do and fun to learn (anyone can do it)! You will treasure this book for years to come. Its structure is also extremely inviting to work in and become comfortable creating in it. I guarantee that you will adore this book as much as I do.
Students should please bring the following: small selection of collage ephemera (handmade/decorative paper, copies of old photos, magazine clippings, journal pages, art book pages, cherished cut outs-anything that "speaks" to you. Please make color copies of anything you wish to use more then once), small selection of ribbons or special "trim" that you'd like to use (though the instructor will have some for you to choose from), scissors, bone folder, 3 bristle brushes to paint and glue (no foam please), cork backed metal ruler, black permanent ink pad (like Versafine or Memories), container to hold water in, roll of paper towels, and a roll of waxed paper.
