Fremont, CA Workshops May 29-31st
I am very happy to announce that I will be teaching four all NEW workshops at Maria's studio in Fremont, CA May 29-31st, 2015 (classes are open to the public.)
I
will be offering fresh, new workshops teaching a variety of NEW
bookbinding, collage, creative processing, self expression, composition,
design, layering, painting and much, much more.
My workshops are always
process-based learning while creating a unique product. I am well known
for not traveling light and bring a large variety of supplies including
(but not limited to) collage material, rubber stamps, stencils, pens,
markers, tape and more. There is a small supply list below each class
description.
Beginners to advanced are welcome in ALL of the classes.
Interested in signing up? Questions? Please email Kelly for more info! EGorey99@sbcglobal.net
Payments for the Fremont, CA workshop must be made in advance. Due to the fact that the teacher is traveling from Los Angeles and must prep for the workshops in advance, there are no cancellations allowed. No refunds.
You may send someone else in your place if you are unable to attend the workshop, or you will receive a kit for the class. You can either pay via paypal (see button below) or send a check or money order. Once you've signed up for the workshop, you will be sent the address and directions to the workshop location. If you have ANY questions you can email me. I will also give you my cell phone number so you contact me.
If you have any problems with the paypal buttons (they can be finicky sometimes, please email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net)

A Gypsy Heart- Construct a rich, lusciously layered portrait of you in journal
form by bringing together color, text and images onto the page. You will make
visually stunning and authentic pages, all contained in a hardcover book bound
by your own hands. You will leave class with several pages completed along with
new ideas for the rest of your book.
Supply list: scissors, a selection of
favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed
paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black ink pad (if you have
one), 1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of
your favorite glue sticks (large glue sticks will last you longer), an old
catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed
paper for this.)

The Artist's Playground- Learn how to
combine your precious bits of ephemera into a truly one of a kind artist's
journal. Create a playground of self expression and discovery. You will learn
how to step back and see things in your artwork that you haven't noticed
before.
I have been working on this
class for over two years now and am very eager to share it with you. You will
be inspired in this class.

Visual Poetry: In this unique all day workshop, you will
create a lavishly layered book full of color, paper, text, paint, stencils and
everything with which we can get our hands dirty with. We'll combine all new
layers of collage, color, text and images onto the pages. We’ll learn how
to push, pull and rework the pages, digging deep and discovering new visual
delights on each and every page. This is the class you have been waiting for.

Found: Moments of Me: Imagine a book so precious you can hold
it in the palm of your hand. We will create a small paper book that you can
carry in your purse or pocket on your daily (or far away) travels. You will
open up and discover new possibilities of creative expression on your pages by
combining paper, tape, stencils, pens and markers with your own musings. I
loved working in this little book, you will, too!
