What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for almost twenty years now. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for stopping by!

Here in My Head: An Artist's Journal Sunday, Feb 15th Book Arts LA

I am looking forward to teaching a brand new class, Here in my Head: An Artist's Journal, at the Book Arts Los Angeles Center (at the location where Stampin From the Heart used to be) on Sunday, February 15th.
BookArtsLA 11720 Washington Place Los Angeles, CA 90066
Each class is four hours in length.
Class time is Noon to 4 p.m.

Cancellation policy: Students are allowed to cancel 72 hours (3 days) before the class. After that, you can send someone else in your place, transfer to another one of my classes or receive a kit.

The class fee is $85 per person which includes a vast array of mediums and materials to complete the necessary project. It is well known that I do not travel light to any of my classes. I will be bringing such things as:

  • all materials necessary to complete the project (handmade paper, decorative paper, board, glue, etc...)
  • bookbinding supplies (thread, awl, needles)
  • rubber stamps
  • ink pads
  • decorative tape
  • stencils
  • pens and markers
  • gel medium
  • collage ephemera and much, much more.
I do not travel light to my classes at all!

Here in My Head: An Artist's Journal
Construct an very unique journal with pages full of layers of colorful paper, deep musings and luscious layers that flip and fold out. (See the pictures below.) You'll then learn how to fill the pages with imagery, color, text, patterns and more that speak to you. You'll love this fun class!

Supply list: 1 yard of ribbon, scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

I hope to see you there!
