8 June 2014 Journal Page

I started a new journal the other day. I've done two pages so far and I'm eager to crack it open right now. It's big and I'll be sharing it on the blog very soon (there are work in progress shots on Instagram.) I love the possibility with a new journal, a new page. Yes, I get stuck at times but I don't stress or worry about it. I make. I push. I fail. I succeed and make more. That's all we can do as artists and human beings.

Hey, Girl! when you say 'it's big' - how big IS that? I always work in at least 8-1/2 x 11, because my hands are so huge, and I've always thought the size of my pages is why it takes 3 months to finish one layout a la Kelly Kilmer style (ha! - but seriously). Anyway, I'm curious what 'big' means to you. Also - I see your pages transitioning, somehow ... it's very difficult for me to put words to, but having followed you/your blog and work for almost a decade now, I definitely see it. A simplification, I think, which is also somehow amplifying the layouts. Love it.

Toni, it's at least 14+" tall. :) big means different things. I worked small because I was on the road for several months. Every journal I make, I try to do in a way that is different than what I have done before.
