What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for more than twenty years. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

I Spent $30 at Daiso and Came Home With...

A lot of FUN stuff! After a super fun day of classes (thanks, ladies!), Maria and I decided to hit the local Daiso. I was hoping to find some Sakura Souffle pens (like last time) but no luck! I scored:
-Chocolate (haven't tried it yet)
-Magnifying Glasses (without the extra little mini magnifier) for David (if you saw the comic book, Krazy Kat, that he was trying to read, you'd get it!)
-A Scrapbook (with brown pages)
-Pens!!! (I tried them out on the brown type scrapbook paper (that did not come from Daiso.) The only one I do NOT like (it does not smell water based at all! Yuck!) is the Sailor Black 2.0 mm pen. The fun pens that are water based. I will have them for students. to try this weekend. I noticed with the purple and green, I really had to shake (always with the cap on!!) and pump the tip of the pen on scrap paper first. For a $1.50/pen, not bad! Update: The pens smear! I am playing with them some more and will post again! Don't rush out yet!

Your post reminded me that I was supposed to go on a mini spree at Daiso. Thanks for saying not to rush. I look forward to your reviews on the items you purchased.
