New Books!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms out there!
I'm vegging in my pjs today and just relaxing. I'll be reading the books that you see above. I picked both of them up this weekend at Barnes and Noble. I was shocked to see Susannah Conway's book, "This I Know" on the shelves at the Grove. Both books were in the self help section. I've been waiting for over a year now for Susannah's book so I was very excited to be able to hold it in my hands. Marney K. Makridakis' book, Creating Time, comes highly recommended so I was happy to snag a copy of it!
I also placed an order on Friday for Orly Avineri's new book, "One Artist Journal". Orly beat me to the punch in self publishing her artist journals in book form. It's one of the things that I've been saying for years that I wanted to do but was never able to find the funds (or time or energy) to do it. Well, she has me thinking about it again. I love her work and I'm really looking forward to holding a copy of her book in my hands. Yes, we may read and ooh and ahh over artwork on blogs but there's nothing that beats a book (well, except the real art journals!) If you're going to buy it, please make sure that you go through her shop (here) as opposed to Amazon as she will receive a MUCH, much higher royalty (a couple of bucks vs. Amazon's pennies.) Orly's blog is here.
The three books highest on my WANT list right now are In Wonderland, Francesca Woodman, and 1000 Artist's Books.
Deborah Putnoi (whose work I adore) has a new book, The Drawing Mind, that also looks really good! I've added it to my want list.
What art books have you bought lately? Which ones are at the top of your wish list?

Thanks for the shout too. I like how you worded the request to buy it through my eStore rather than through Amazon, can I steal some of them?
XOXO
