I tend to buy a lot of background or text stamps that can be used repeatedly. I love stamps that give you more bang for your buck where you can use portions or pieces of them instead of the whole thing. I tend to selectively collect alphabet and number stamps.
I've carved my own stamps as well. I also enjoy buying unusual, unique stamps on etsy.

Loving Unity Stamp Co monthly SMAK kit right now--it's a cushioned 8.5 x 11 rubber sheet with themed stamps for the art journaler/mixed media artist!! Got my 1st set a couple days ago and it's really high quality!! And, the individual stamps are almost pre-cut from the sheet so no cutting of the rubber!! Love them!!
