How I Spent My Afternoon

Yesterday Tristan and I went over to the half price bookstore near Art Unraveled. I scored one thing: a huge poly wrapped stack of at least 50 copies of The Sun for $5.

I've been prepping for my East Coast classes last night and today. I feel like a robot just sorting, categorizing and piling. This is the work part of teaching. :) I sorted through the stack and made four piles:

Class, recyclable, me now, me later (lol. I know I'm weird.)

The class pile is all the way to the right and huge. The me now pile is small and the me later pile is stacked on a bunch of other crap so it looks huge, but it's not. I now need to find a recycle bin for the rest of it!

This is usually how I sort my collage ephemera into separate stacks where they are all reused in some way.

If you're in the L.A. area, don't forget about the Barron Storey exhibit at Bert Green Fine Art that starts tomorrow. Barron is also doing a book signing. More info and info on how to rsvp:

Teaching my Pen class in a few hours! Looking forward to it!

I visited the link you provided for THE SUN...that was some score, based on their prices for back issues. Cool. One of my friends from bloglandia had told me about Papermate Liquid Flair pens, I started out with two med. points, and my box of ultra-fines came today...they are quite wonderful, smooth, easy. I haven't yet started to draw with them but believe it will be a joy. Keep enjoying your travels. xo
