What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for almost twenty years now. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for stopping by!

19 February Journal Page

Some of you have heard me sing the praises of these pens before, but I'll sing 'em loud and clear again. I. love. these. pens. Pilot Pocket Mini Gel Ink Pens.

I saw Julie Molina and Tally Oliveau's Mixed Media Dollhouses book yesterday while I was out running errands. It's soooo cool. Julie is giving away a copy here.

I was at the bookstore yesterday and I saw a book (and damn, I didn't write the name down) about the form of women as inspiration. It was on the display table. If you're at B & N, and you see it (the cover is white and has the form of a woman on it), pick it up and look at it. It's gorgeous!!! When I find the name of it, I'll blog about it.

I also saw Noonie's Masterpiece in the kids' section. I flipped through it several times in the store and I love the colors in it!

I picked up the new Lisa Kogan book yesterday. I can't wait to read it! She's one of the main reasons why I subscribe to O. I love the way she writes. She cracks me up.

Last but not least, I took this on Highland Ave in Hollywood the other day...

I can not wait to see Alice in Wonderland. The commercials mesmerize me so I can just imagine what the whole movie will do! *squealing with excitement*

You went to B&N and I was just sitting here thinking about placing an Amazon.com order (the closest bookstore is 50 miles away)...I love my books!

Thanks for your well wishes...I appreciate it more than you know.

Peace & Love,
~Barb~

I heard Alice and Wonderland get panned by the critic on NPR this morning. It's one of the few movies I've told Julia not to see with her dad so we can go see it. I picked up the Doll Houses book last week. It's a great resource now that I'm working on my shrine boxes.

I love this page, the little tab is great on the page. Great links and great books. Alice in Wonderland looks like it's going to be a great movie.

Kelly your blog is so wonderfully bad for me. I absolutely love looking at your journal pages and all the links to the charming things like tiny gel pens and a mixed media doll house book. What treasures!

you are evil!! I have, thus far, stayed away from the Jet Pens website, but I won't be able to any longer, now that I've seen it!! and thanks for the book recommendation!
