What's Comic Con to do? The beginning of your post sounds like a lot of the sour stories I have heard from a lot of people... in fact, my cousin skipped the con this year for the first time in 20 years! Aside from the area (remember, I live here) being such a congested mess, what do you think they need to do to fix it before 2009?

I didn't say anything "bad" at the beginning of this post..this is my Eisner awards post.

I didn't think the beginning of my whole comic con experience post was that bad.

Walking-it's just part of Con.
There's nothing you can do about it. I do wish that the middle parts of the exhibit hall weren't so damn congested with movie/tv crap. People will clog up the aisles and just stop and swarm, pushing and grabbing for free stuff. We avoid that area for the most part. Why does Sci-Fi Network need such a big ass booth?? They could figure out a way to downsize the booths. As far as giving out stuff, why don't the companies do goodie bags given to you when you check in?? That's when they could give you the posters and free shit that they hand out all weekend. It's not like people aren't going to visit their booths any ways.

As far as parking, we didn't have a problem until Saturday morning. On Saturday at the butt ass crack of dawn it took us 45 minutes to get from one end of the convention center DRIVING to the other (as the lot under the convention center was full). It should have been a 2 minute drive but because there was NO one directing traffic, we sat there in line and watched assholes jump the line. That was frustrating. Same thing when you go to leave the parking lot at night, unless you leave early, it's ridiculous and not uncommon to sit in traffic in front of the Convention Center and Marriott for 45 minutes on what should be a 90 second exit.

I think Comic Con has outgrown San Diego. This is what a lot of people have said over the years. I also think the major theme of the convention is more so tv shows and film. The actual number of comic dealers seems to shrink every year to be swallowed whole by tv and movie stuff.

Lastly, why are the hotels allowed to jack up the prices just for Comic Con?? Check them out at other times and they are not anywheres as near as expensive as they are during Comic Con week. The $ we spend on hotel, food, transportation and parking should be spend IN the exhibit hall with the vendors.

Move it to L.A. NOT Vegas.

Those are the big complaints. They are the same thing one hears year after year. Comic Con is our family vacation and the thing we look forward to all year long. We LOVE it. I recommend it left and right to people. You just have to know going in what to expect. I thought that by doing the postings the way I did would give people a good overview of the whole Con experience. I didn't leave anything out. I put it in as it happened. Wednesday WAS the most stressful day because Image FUCKED UP and didn't apologize for it. I can't help it if an artist is an asshole, there's nothing that can be said or done or fixed about that. Overall, the week was awesome. I just pointed things out as they happened-the good, the bad and the downright ugly.

How many days til Con 2009???
