He showed some very hilarious blooper outtakes -- one of William Shatner repeatedly walking into doors (apparently the crew thought it very funny to let him walk into the doors -- the doors were opened manually from above)He's such a Prima Donna. James was a lovely man who let the 12 year old me and my best friend and fellow trekkie ask as many questions as we wanted (we must have gushed for at least 15 minutes -- maybe more)and he posed for pictures with us. I'm sorry you had to experience that kind of rudeness, though.

I've been told that George Takei is wonderful - he tells some very funny stories about fans (adults who should know better) who have asked him what it felt like to be transported. I suspect Shatner has very little patience for that type of fan and has written everyone off because of it. Sad.

Kelly, I want to meet you so badly!Romillyhttp://www.stitchingwithashimmy.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-84668872589538767232009-05-04T05:30:00.000-07:002009-05-04T05:30:00.000-07:00Well, this is a whole new world to me! There's nothing gets my back up more than famous people being assholes. They're only people, after all. I'd like to have told him 'You're an asshole, do you know that?'

Thank goodness for your Mum and bad boy Tristan! I bet he's relieved you eventually did get your comic. Very interesting post for me.BThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16800917080090010655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-45797291808712219762009-05-04T04:54:00.000-07:002009-05-04T04:54:00.000-07:00Dear Kelly,

(I have that from Gene Roddenberry's former personal assistant) And yup, first class asshole.

But George Takei? Absolutely one of nature's true gentleman. Such a lovely guy, really gracious and giving. I have had the honour of meeting him at two Conventions in Australia.

He can be a wee bit daggy even. VBG!! But never rude or arrogant. I hope you get to meet him!

Cheers

AnnieAnniehttp://dyegal41.typepad.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-80539467679127489542009-05-03T13:37:00.000-07:002009-05-03T13:37:00.000-07:00We all trekked over to Atomic Comics in Phoenix an...We all trekked over to Atomic Comics in Phoenix and got our 8--limited to 2 per person. In honor of natn'l free comic book day I used deleter tones on my journal page for May 2nd (still in progress because of a gazillion interruptions yesterday). Shatner is a jerk! He's no Trekkie, he just happened to play one on TV. We had a similar experience at a comicon a couple of years ago. I can't remember which actor it was, but he was nasty!Barbara Hagertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13769419648325164734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-43044838935106692232009-05-03T13:20:00.000-07:002009-05-03T13:20:00.000-07:00Your free comic day sound like fun (mostly:).
